Step 1 of 2

Duelling Pixels AI-Readiness Questionnaire

Use this questionnaire to give each repeatable workflow an objective health-check before you allocate a cent to an AI pilot. For each question, rate the workflow on a scale from 1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready and jot the score in the right-hand column. Add up the points for a quick snapshot of readiness. A total of 70 or more out of 85 signals that the basics—process clarity, clean data, clear ownership, and compliance safeguards—are firmly in place, and you can proceed with confidence. Anything lower highlights specific gaps to close before moving on to model design and budget approval.

SOPs Workflow Documentation Review

Ensure your process map captures every task, hand-off, and owner so AI engineers know exactly what they’re augmenting or automating.
Standard operating procedures have been captured end-to-end
A full process map exists, showing every task from first trigger to final completion, with no gaps.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Responsibilities & hand-off points named
Each step clearly states who (or which system) owns it and when control moves to the next person or tool.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)

Data Inventory Review

List every data source and field—along with its steward—to eliminate surprises once model training begins.
Source and data systems identified
You’ve listed every database, spreadsheet, or app that supplies data to the workflow.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Mandatory fields & formats listed
For each data element, the SOP specifies required columns, units, and acceptable input formats.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Data owners assigned
A named person or team is accountable for the accuracy and upkeep of each data source.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)

Data Quality & Accessibility Review

Confirm the data arrives on time, in the correct format, and through an automated pipeline your team can access without manual workarounds.
Timely, complete, de-duplicated
The data arrives when needed, includes all records, and contains no unwanted duplicates.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
API or export access confirmed
Engineers can reliably pull the data via an API, scheduled export, or other automated feed.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Spot-check cadence in place
A routine (weekly, monthly, etc.) exists to sample and verify data quality before modelling.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)

Automation Potential Review

Evaluate task volume, repeat frequency, and rule clarity to identify the best quick-win candidates for an AI pilot.
High volume & repeat frequency
The task occurs often enough that even small improvements will save noticeable time or money.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Clear rules or patterns
Decisions follow well-defined criteria the AI can learn or apply without guesswork.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Low exception rate (< 10 %)
Fewer than one in ten cases require special handling or manual override.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)

Risk & Compliance Review

Verify that privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements are documented and that sensitive steps retain appropriate human oversight.
Privacy / IP reviewed
Legal has checked that data sharing and algorithm use won’t breach privacy laws or intellectual-property rights.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Human approval points set
The SOP specifies when a person must review or sign off before the AI proceeds.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Baseline cycle time & cost captured
Current performance figures (e.g., minutes per task, dollars per order) are recorded for comparison.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)

Success Benchmarks Defined Review

Regulatory constraints mapped
Industry or regional regulations affecting the workflow are documented and linked to specific steps.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Target KPIs (e.g., $ saved/order, minutes saved, errors/100) set
Clear goals such as dollars saved per order, minutes reduced per cycle, or errors per 100 transactions are agreed.
(1 = needs work to 5 = fully ready)
Dashboard owner named
One person is responsible for building and maintaining the live performance dashboard.
