The Genesis Framework is a theme framework built by StudioPress. Originally designed and developer by Brian Gardner, the themes support a parent and child theme model to allow for editing of child theme files without destroying your WordPress install. This theme model also allows for quicker and easier web development for developers and designers alike.
Known for it’s early implementation of Schema.org markup, built-in SEO features, accessibility features, and strong security. The Genesis Framework also has built in hook library known Genesis Hooks that allow developers to quickly move element around in a page layout.
The framework and themes are very popular amongst some of WordPress’s more popular groovers and shakers. Due to it’s popularity the framework is well documented across the web with many tutorials and how to’s available online.
