Who delivers the work
Websites built properly, by the person you talk to
A website does its job when customers can understand the business and complete the next step, and when the search engines and AI assistants they ask can find it and describe it correctly. Duelling Pixels builds the website and does the marketing that gets it found. Both are one job, and we do both in-house.
Work directly with Nicholas
We read every enquiry, and Nicholas Duell leads the work that follows. Duelling Pixels is based in Melbourne, works with businesses across Australia and has been designing, building and looking after business websites and online stores for more than ten years.
The person you brief is the person who builds, tests and hands over the site, because we deliver the work in-house. You know who is responsible for each part before anything starts.

Why the website comes first
Most digital marketing agencies sell channels. Social media, paid ads and email put a message in front of people. An AI assistant does something different: it reads what exists about a business and summarises it. The channel work does not change what it reads. The website, the content, the listings and the consistency of the facts do.
So our marketing starts with the website and stays close to it. We do not manage social media, and we say so, because a business that wants to be found and described correctly by an assistant needs a specialist in what the assistant reads.

Understand the choices before committing to the work
Not every problem needs a new website. A focused improvement, or a plugin that already exists, is sometimes the right answer, and we say so when it is. Other requirements call for a rebuild or custom development.
Before you commit, we explain those choices and what each one means for your site. The work can involve a business website or an online store, with the custom functions it needs, alongside hosting, SEO, AI Search, content writing and copywriting, and an AI Website Manager for your team.
Technical care for a business purpose
How fast a page loads, how the code is built, whether the form delivers the enquiry and how easily someone finds their way around all decide whether the website serves your customers. A design review and a function test reveal different things, so we do both.
For each piece of work we settle with you what a customer action or a staff workflow should do, then show you that it does it.

Know who owns and maintains each part
Accounts and licences belong to you. We look after the custom code and the documentation. By the end of a project you know how to operate the site, where to find the records and who handles ongoing changes.
We set out those responsibilities, the delivery stages and a private quote before we start. Every service stays available on its own, even when you combine several.
