Websites for plumbers

A plumber’s customer arrives in one of two states. Either something is leaking, blocked or cold right now, or they are planning a bathroom and want a plumber they can trust with a bigger job. The same website has to serve both, and in both cases the customer is on a phone, checking three things before they call: are you licensed, do you come to my suburb and have other people been happy. Your website has to answer in seconds.

Trust is the licence and the compliance certificate

In Victoria, plumbing work has to be done by a licensed or registered plumber, and a compliance certificate is lodged for most jobs. Customers increasingly know this. The licence number on the page, the classes of work you are licensed for, the insurance you carry and the fact that you lodge compliance certificates are the first trust signals a plumbing website can give. The second is reviews, shown with their source and newest first. The third is the suburbs you actually cover, named, so the customer in Preston knows you come to Preston.

We put all of that on every page a customer can land on, in text a search engine can read, and we make sure it matches your Google Business Profile, because that is often where the customer came from.

Expertise is one page per job

The jobs a plumber gets called for are predictable: blocked drains, burst pipes, leaking taps and toilets, hot water systems that have failed, gas fitting, roof and gutter leaks and the bathroom renovation. A page for each, written the way you would explain it on the doorstep, shows expertise in a way “all plumbing services” never does. What usually causes a blocked drain. What you check first on a hot water system before deciding to repair or replace. Why a gas job needs a licensed gas fitter. What makes a bathroom renovation cost more than the quote.

Those pages are also what a customer types into a search engine or asks an assistant. Nobody searches for “plumbing services”. They search for “hot water not working” and “blocked drain Northcote”. We write the pages from a conversation with you about the calls you get most.

Authority is local and already exists

A plumber’s authority is held by the people who have already used them. Google reviews. The directories customers in your area open. The plumbing association you belong to. The builders and real estate agents who send you work. The years on the same postcodes. Most of it is real and most of it is not connected to the website.

We bring it onto the site, link it to its sources and make sure the website, the Google Business Profile and the directories all describe the business the same way. For plumbers who want to know which sources assistants cite when someone asks for a plumber in their area, our AI Search service measures that separately.

Why this matters for AI search

Someone asking an assistant for an emergency plumber in their suburb gets a short list, assembled from Google Business Profiles, reviews, directories and the plumbers’ own websites. A website that states the licence, the suburbs, the jobs and the reviews in plain text gives the assistant accurate material about your business. A website that is a phone number and a photo of a van gives it very little. Nobody can promise a place on that list, and we do not. We can make sure the material the assistant reads is accurate and complete.

Fast, on a phone, with the number visible

A customer with water on the floor will not wait for a slow page. We build plumbing websites to load fast on mobile, with the phone number, the hours, the suburbs and the licence visible before any scrolling. The enquiry form is checked after every update, because a form that fails at 9pm is a job that went to the next plumber.

What we build for plumbers

  • A first screen with licence, suburbs, hours, tap-to-call and recent reviews.
  • A page for each common job: blocked drains, burst pipes, hot water, gas fitting, roof plumbing, bathroom renovations and whichever others you want more of.
  • Suburb pages that match your Google Business Profile service area.
  • Reviews shown with their source, newest first.
  • Licence, insurance and association details in text, with the register they can be checked against.
  • A fast mobile build with the form tested after every update.
  • Structured data for the business, its services and its service areas, matching the visible facts.
  • Google Business Profile and directory listings brought into line with the website.

Questions plumbers ask

Most of our work is emergencies from Google Maps. Do we need pages about each job?

Yes, because the pages are how you get the non-emergency work. The customer planning a bathroom or replacing a hot water system searches for that job by name, and the plumber with a page that explains it gets the call. The emergency customer taps the number either way.

We do gas, roofing and bathrooms as well as general plumbing. One site or several?

One site, with a page for each kind of work and the licence classes stated for each. Splitting a plumbing business across several websites divides your reviews and your authority.

Can you promise more calls?

No. We can make the website fast, accurate and consistent with your listings, and measure what the search engines and assistants say about your business before and after.
